It’s a fetish classic: British-made and independent. Who on the UK fetish scene *hasn’t* heard of it? Shot in the late 90s, made using the old-school method, traditional 35mm film stock. Film which unfortunately has shelf life. A campaign therefore has been launched to restore and further preserve the film, converting it to HD quality digital files
Some interesting facts:
- It was originally a BBC project, but the corporation withdrew, declaring that this, the first film set in the fetish scene, with explicit scenes of bondage, domination and sadomasochism (BDSM) could never be shown on mainstream British television.
- It was the last film of the twentieth century banned in Ireland
- It was cut for ratings in the USA
- The BBC ended up screening it within a few short years
Can you believe that? Considering some of the stuff Hollywood comes out with nowadays, I’d say P2TP could almost be classed as TAME. Haha, depends what you’re into I guess!
